Cowabunga! As Frankie and Annette feature in this contemporary version of their old-time, good-time beach pictures, the surfing '60s ride into the new wave. Bob Denver, Tony Dow, Pee-Wee Herman, Jerry Mathers, and more notable figures make special appearances. Frankie and Annette grow up in the Midwest and have children. They return to Los Angeles to see their daughter, who has moved in with her boyfriend and is attempting to conceal the truth. They encounter marital difficulties when Frankie meets Connie, who has dedicated a shrine to him in her night club. Their punk son has formed an alliance with the local surf toughs, and things heat up when the toughs challenge the good men to a surfing duel.
