Blood in the Water
Percy and Veronica have been housesitting in the Hollywood Hills for the summer, but the real world of New York, jobs, and young professional problems is only a few days away. Despite this, they are eager to depart their paradise because the peace has been disturbed by an unwelcome visit from Freedgood, a former college classmate. His life has been plagued by incarceration, questionable business relationships, and drug dealing since their liberal arts years. And, as we soon see, this has resulted in the man's death, a curious LAPD investigator, and a yearning for the everyday strife that appears to be so much more appealing than remaining in their false Eden.
