Carried Away
Based on the book "Farmer" by Jim Harrison. Joseph Svenden, 47, lives on the family farm with his dying mother and works as a teacher in a two-room schoolhouse with Rosealee, his lover and the widow of his best friend. Joseph, who does not have a college degree, learns that he will lose his teaching job at the end of the year when the school district expands into his town. Meanwhile, he is seduced by Catherine, a 17-year-old newcomer to his class. Joseph's affair with Catherine, combined with the loss of his teaching job, forces him to reconsider his previously mundane life and decide how he wants to spend the rest of it.
