Foolish Wives
Writer/director Erich von Stroheim stars as a count that is fraudulent, living high on the hog in montecarlo. He supports himself with extorting massive sums of money from absurd ladies who are dumb enough to fall for his charms that are romantic. Von Stroheim's partners in crime, Maud George and counterfeit princesses Mae Busch, are now living in a nation of depravity that is endless with the entrance in a massive mansion. Their latest victim, played is an American financier's wife. Von Stroheim's attempted seduction with the particular wife is thwarted at every turn, and also the count gets his comeuppance.
