Friendship's Death
In an effort to convince people to live in peace, a robot messenger is dispatched to Earth. Inadvertently landing in Amman, Jordan, during the 1970 Black September riots, she was originally intended to attend MIT. After a bombing, when she is discovered walking around without identification, British journalist Sullivan helps her and offers her shelter in his hotel room. But at that point, she reveals to him that she is a robot sent from another planet as a peace messenger. Though her unique point of view on the world appeals to him, he isn't sure whether to trust her account. They engage in a series of very thought-provoking and enjoyable dialogues in which they explore the human condition.
