Mae West's Mavis Arden (Mavis Arden) is a hugely popular actress. Her global fan base and numerous personal appearance tours attest to her enduring appeal. Arden's car breaks down on the way home from one of these appearances. She tells her publicity man, Warren William, to find her a place to stay because she thinks he planned the break down to keep her away from a man. In the meantime, she finds herself smitten with a local repairman (Randolph Scott) and spending her free time listening to his brilliant ideas for new filmmaking equipment.
