Jefferson in Paris
After the death of his wife, Thomas Jefferson accepts the position of United States ambassador to pre-revolutionary France, despite finding it difficult to acclimatize to life in a country where the aristocracy rules over an increasingly restless peasantry. Jefferson falls in love with intellectual artist Maria Cosway in Paris, but his attention is diverted when his daughter arrives from Virginia with her lovely slave, Sally Hemings.
