Lou Reed & John Cale: Songs for Drella
Songs for Drella is a concept album by Lou Reed and John Cale, both of The Velvet Underground, dedicated to Andy Warhol, who died unexpectedly in 1987. Drella, a portmanteau of Dracula and Cinderella, was Warhol's crowd's moniker. The song cycle concentrates on Warhol's interpersonal ties and experiences, with tracks falling into three categories: Warhol's first-person perspective (which makes up most of the album), third-person narratives chronicling events and relationships, and first-person commentary on Warhol by Reed and Cale. The album's songs are mostly in order.
