Next Summer
Edouard is the patriarch of a huge family, and his second wife, Jeanne, who has just given birth to a child, has had it up to here with his extramarital affairs. Edouard's girls go through their own emotional upheaval as the disintegration of their parents' marriage plays out in front of them. Dina, who is in a relationship with the playwright Paul, yearns for more from her day-to-day existence, but Sidone, who is married to a fellow musician but cannot stand the thought of performing in front of an audience, is petrified of doing so. Seven years have passed, and Edouard is now seriously ill. The family discusses their problems, hopes, and anxieties with one another.
