In New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, learns that she's descended from a lineup of Shadowhunters -- half-angel warriors that protect humankind from evil forces. Once her mother vanishes, Clary joins forces and enters Downworld, an alternate kingdom. Her companions and clary must find and protect a historical cup which holds the key to the future of her mother.
