The Tempest
Prospero, a powerful magician, lives on a barren island with his unblemished daughter, Miranda. He's in exile, eliminated from his duchy by his usurping sibling and the King of Naples. Divine superintendence brings these adversaries near; helped by his liege the spirit Ariel, Prospero invokes a tempest to trash the Italian ship. The king's boy, thinking all others shed, ends up being Prospero's prisoner, loving Miranda and she with him. Prospero's sibling and the king stray the island, as do a drunken chef and also sailor, that conspire with Caliban, Prospero's abominable servant, to murder Prospero. Prospero wants reason to triumph, Ariel wants his liberty, Miranda a partner; the seafarers want to dance.
