An oncoming storm has imprisoned an eccentric family on a Kansas farm in their farmhouse. The clan's patriarch is a retired soda tycoon. He's dating a children's television evangelist at the moment. His slacker daughter and her precocious 8-year-old daughter, as well as his would-be artist son, his fiancée, and the black maid, all live on the property.
