A Barefoot Dream
Kim Won-kang, a former professional soccer player who has seen his share of failed business projects, visits East Timor and sees local kids playing soccer on rocky fields without shoes. When he learns that there is no sporting goods retailer in the country, he hatches a plan to sell shoes to children who otherwise would not have any. No one can afford $60 for a pair of shoes, even on a generous installment plan, so he quickly finds himself coaching a squad of ragtag 10-year-olds with no hope of improving their situation.
