A boy and a stray dog using an amazing basketball playing ability become instant friends. Rebounding from his father's accidental deathJosh Framm moves to the town of Fernfield, Washington his family. The new kid in the town is too timid to try out for the college basketball team and doesn't have friends. He prefers to clinic on a left handed courtroom, and he befriends a runaway golden retriever named Buddy. When he comprehends that Buddy loves basketball josh is amazed. . .that is currently playing with basketball. . .and he is GOOD! Josh makes the faculty team and Buddy is named the staff Mascot. Josh and Buddy become the celebrities of half time. The half-time talent of buddy draws media attention. Unfortunately, when Buddy's mean former proprietor Norm Snively, arrives with a strategy to cash in on the pup's celebrity, it seems like they're likely to be broken.
