All Dogs Go to Heaven

When Charlie, a casino owner's dog, is killed by his adversary Carface, he finds himself in Paradise by default, since all dogs go to heaven. However, in order to avenge his killer, he conns his way back to the living, despite the fact that doing so will sentence him to Hell. When he returns, he hooks up with Itchy, his former accomplice, to plan his retribution. He also meets an orphan girl who has the ability to communicate with animals, allowing him to obtain insider information on the races in order to assure his victories and fund his goals. However, he is continually plagued by nightmares of what awaits him on the other side until he can once again show his worthiness for Heaven.
