Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel

Anne Shirley, currently a schoolteacher, has begun writing stories and collecting rejection slips. She's the acquaintance of a handsome, rich, bachelor, chases a cow, also wins (to her chagrin) a baking-soda company's writing contest. She refuses Gilbert Blythe's marriage proposal, and behaves as Diana's maid of honor. Which directs her to show Kingsport Ladies' College, a private girls school, where she meets resistance from one of those instructors, Miss Brooke, and also the Pringle clan (among whom is really just a rich, handsome bachelor). However, while Anne likes also the friends she makes, and the conflict, she returns to Avonlea.
