Confronted by Apartheid and a papa who was Priest of Censorship, Ingrid Jonker searched for a residence, searched for love. With men like Jack Cope and also André Brink she discovered much love, however no house. Later, in his initial speech to the South African Parliament Nelson Mandela read her rhyme "The Dead Child of Nyanga" as well as resolved her as one of the finest poets of South Africa.
