Celia
The film recounts a long hot summer seen through the eyes and overactive imagination of nine-year-old Celia, set in mid-fifties Australia with the fear of communism in the air and the country's farmlands overrun by a plague of rabbits. Celia is torn between the brutal games and customs of childhood and the confusing world of adults after the death of her loving Grandmother. With horrific creatures invading her dreams at night, those imagined terrors mix with the banality of adult life during the day, leading to sad and surprising outcomes.
