Clínica de Migrantes: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
Puentes de Salud is a volunteer-run clinic in south Philadelphia that offers free medical services to undocumented immigrants. Doctors and nurses volunteer their time for free to help patients who would otherwise be overlooked. Maxim Pozdorovkin's film Clinica de Migrantes follows the Puentes personnel and patients through months of ordinary care and growth. Along the way, the film gives a face to the millions of people living on the periphery of society: people who have been uprooted from their homelands, separated from their families, unfamiliar with local customs, unable to obtain health insurance, and afraid to seek medical treatment. Clinica is a look at the courageous doctors and nurses that workpro bono to guarantee these patients get care, as well as a truly affecting look at humanity's boundless potential.
