Distant Voices, Still Lives
The second film in Terence Davies's autobiographical series (along side"Trilogy" and"The Long Day Closes") can be an impressionistic view of a working family in 1940s and 1950s Liverpool, based on Davies's family. Throughout a collection of tableaux that are exquisite Davies creates a profoundly affecting photo album of a family.
