Drowning Mona

Mona Dearly (Bette Midler), who died recently, was many things: an abusive wife, a controlling mother, a loudmouthed neighbor, and a violent thug. When her car and body are found in the Hudson River, police Chief Wyatt Rash (Danny DeVito) suspects murder rather than an accident. Rash's murder investigation is hampered by the fact that the entire village of Verplanck, New York, has a strong hate for this unrelentingly cruel woman.
