The film Fiddler on the Roof, which Pauline Kael (The New Yorker) called "the most powerful cinema musical ever created," celebrated its 50th anniversary in the fall of 2021. FIDDLER'S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN is narrated by Jeff Goldblum. captures the hilarity and drama of filmmaker Norman Jewison's effort to reconstruct the forgotten realm of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia and reimagine the iconic stage play as a wide-screen epic Oscar-nominated filmmaker Daniel Raim transports us to the director's chair and into Jewison's heart and mind, using never-before-seen footage and original interviews with Jewison, Topol (Tevye), composer John Williams, production designer Robert F. Boyle, film critic Kenneth Turan, lyricist Sheldon Harnick, and actresses Rosalind Harris, Michele Marsh, and Neva Small (Tevye's daughters). The film examines how the experience of filming Fiddler on the Roof enriched Jewison as an artist and resurrected his soul.
