Five Graves to Cairo

A lone survivor is, left by the Army, retreating ahead of Rommel that is victorious to the Egyptian border who finds refuge at a remote desert hotel. He's helped by the owner of the hotel, despite protest against the French chambermaid, fearful of their coming of the Germans and Rommel. John assumes the identity of this recently deceased host to survive.
