Friends & Lovers

Ian's father has invited a bunch of twenty-somethings to his home for a skiing vacation. The father-son relationship between Ian and his father is strained because Ian's father worked long hours as a child. In spite of Dad's pleas, Ian refuses to hear him out. Meanwhile, David is gay and virginal; Ian's business partner, Keaton, is unhappy that his sister Jane is pregnant with no plans to inform the father; Lisa is everybody's pal and no one's lover; and John, stuck in adolescence, is always on the make. In Carla, a stunning German beauty, he introduces her to Hans, a fast-talking ski instructor. Carla is immediately smitten with Hans. David and Manny both enjoy chess. As time goes on, new twists and turns in relationships begin to emerge.
