Solange is miserable: she has stopped grinning she says . She's fainting fits. By minding Stephane to be her lover her husband Raoul seeks to save her. Although he contains every pocket-book ordered in alphabetical order and moans to Mozart, Stephane neglects to cheer Solange. She knits. She does housework. Everybody else, including their neighbor a vegetable vendor, agrees that she needs a youngster, yet she fails to get pregnant by either lover. The three require a job running a children's summer camp where they meet Christian, the precocious kid of their neighborhood factory director. It is Christian who restores Solange to laughter
