Having a self-absorbed new-age mother and an estranged father means Ellis Whitman that is 15-year-old has grown up depending upon an unconventional protector: a marijuana-growing sage named Goat Man. So when Ellis makes the decision to leave the different methods of the desert homestead to get a stuffy East Coast prep school, big changes are in store. Although maybe not in the way that you'd think. Though often stoned, the competent and exceptionally intelligent Ellis conducts school and excels in track.
