Heat of Desire

Throughout the not too distant future, unrest and anarchy break out in France. Philippe Muphand, a politician on the right, is about to seize power when his lady friend Caroline abruptly leaves him and declares that she is going to run off and get involved with the first fool she sees. The fool is Professor Serge Laine, author of the award-winning novel "Le voyage qui ne finit pas," who is on his way to the railway station to purchase tickets to Barcelona, where he and his wife will have a second honeymoon and where he will speak at the university. After being seduced by Caroline, Serge quickly gives up his wife, family, work, and integrity in order to devote himself to Caroline, the romanticism of Jack London, and murder.
