King Rat
When Singapore surrendered to the Japanese in 1942, the Allied POWs, mostly British but including Some Americans, were incarcerated in Changi prison. There were not any walls or barbed wire fences for the simple reason that there was no place for the inmates. Contained one of the offenders is the American Cpl. King, a wheeler dealer who's had to established a pretty great life for himself at the camp. While most of the offenders are close starvation and also possess uniforms that are in tatters, King eats and and has clean clothes to wear daily. King soon creates a friendship with Lt. Peter Marlowe, an upperclass British officer who is interested with King's élan life-style.
