Lots of Kids, a Monkey and a Castle
Julita's three greatest aspirations were expressed immediately after her wedding: a large family, a monkey, and a palace to call her own. All of these fantasies have come true because to the tenacity of this charismatic and equally humorous matriarch, who has a penchant for collecting bizarre artifacts. When the family's castle is forced to be sold due to financial constraints, her adult children are left sifting through a lifetime of oddities in search of a few missing bones... Gustavo Salmerón, a Spanish actor and neo-realist director, creates a delightfully ludicrous family picture that also manages to convey a lot about Spain, Catholicism, and the current economic crisis.
