In this traditional thriller, Hans Beckert, a serial killer who preys on kids, becomes the focus of a Berlin authorities manhunt. Beckert offenses are tumultuous and therefore repellant to urban city life he is even targeted by others in the seedy underworld network. With both criminals and cops in pursuit, the murderer realizes that people have been on his trail, sending him to some panicked attempt to flee prosecution.
