Kit Monkman, the filmmaker of The Knife That Killed Me, has reimagined Shakespeare's Macbeth in an innovative new film version. With Mark Rowley in the lead role (The Last Kingdom, Luther). A new form of imaginative environment is created by Monkman's original adaptation that successfully spans the gap between theater and film. While respecting the original play's language and concepts, this new adaptation puts the audience at the center of attention, magnifying the theatrical environment and generating really novel and exhilarating cinematic vistas, all while preserving Shakespeare's original play. The green screen allows Monkman to develop his concept of a multi-tiered planet in which the characters play out their many fates through the use of backdrop matte painting and computer modeling.
