Mary, Queen of Scots
Mary Stuart, who was crowned Queen of Scotland when she was only six days old, is the country's final Roman Catholic ruler and the last monarch of the United Kingdom. As a young woman of 23 years old, she is imprisoned by her cousin Elizabeth Tudor, the English Queen and her arch-enemy. Nineteen years later, Mary's life will be brought to an end on the scaffold, and with her execution, the last challenge to Elizabeth's monarchy will be erased from the world. The two Queens, with their diametrically opposed personalities, provide a dramatic antithesis to the course of history.
