Murieta

Joaquin Murieta and his wife travel north to California in search of riches, but they only meet one white person, a marshal, who befriends them. After Murieta is assaulted and robbed, and his wife is murdered by bandits, he seeks vengeance by establishing an outlaw group that robs the countryside. The marshal eventually cornered Murieta and persuaded him to call off his campaign. When Murieta is subsequently wounded and recovers, his gang unleashes a reign of terror without his awareness, eventually killing him in a final confrontation with the marshal.
