Pocketful of Miracles
Manager Frank Capra, tells damon Runyon's fairytale, amusing and sweet. Boozy, a beggar using a basket of oranges, brassy Apple Annie, is really just as much as a portion of downtown nyc as Broadway itself. Bootlegger Dave the Dude is a sucker for her apples -- he thinks they bring his luck to him. But Dave and girlfriend Queenie Martin want far more than luck when it ends up that Annie is in a jam and they can help: Annie's daughter Louise, who's lived her life in a Spanish convent, is coming to America using a Count along with his own son. The count's kid would like to marry Louise, that thinks her mum is section of New York society. It's as much as their Runyonesque cronies and Queenie along with Dave to show Annie right in to a female and convince that the Count and his son that they are hobnobbing using the elite of New York.
