Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta
Reverend Bennet (Reginald VelJohnson, "Family Matters") is a pastor of a prominent southern Baptist church, and his wife Mrs. Bennet (Jackée Harry, "Sister, Sister") is the author of a self-help book on how to find the ideal husband. The story "Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta" is a contemporary adaptation of the Jane Austen classic. Mrs. Bennet is, needless to say, less than thrilled about the fact that all five of their daughters are still single: Lizzie (Tiffany Hines, "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart"), Jane (Raney Branch, "Being Mary Jane"), Mary (Brittney Level, "The Purge"), Lydia (Reginae Carter, "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta"), and Kitty ("Alexia Bailey"). Mrs. Bennet sets her sights on the attractive bachelor for her daughter Lizzie as soon as the exceedingly eligible Will Darcy (Juan Antonio, "Empire") arrives in town. This leads to a contemporary and comic spin on themes that readers of the novel will be familiar with.
