Ram Dass, Going Home
Ram Dass was a pivotal cultural figure in the 1960s and 1970s. Ram Dass, a pyschedelic pioneer, Be Here Now author, beloved spiritual teacher, and outspoken advocate for death-and-dying awareness, is now nearing the end of his life. Since suffering a life-changing stroke twenty years ago, he has been living at his Maui home and deepening his spiritual practice, which is centered on love and the idea of merging with his surroundings and all living things. The film, shot in a nuanced cinematic style, is an intimate summary of his life learning and awareness, and is ultimately a poetic meditation on life, death, and the soul's journey home.
