Royal Shakespeare Company: Cymbeline

Crisis in Britain. Dystopian Britain is ruled by an ineffective Queen Cymbeline. Due to Cymbeline's emotional state following the deaths of both of her children, her judgment is skewed. Cymbeline is furious when her sole surviving heir, Innogen, secretly marries her sweetheart Posthumus. Secretly plotting to usurp both of them is a man with a vendetta for power seated behind the throne. An impulsive act of jealousy by Innogen's husband leads him to plan her murder while she is in exile from their home. Innogen, warned of the danger, flees the court in disguise and embarks on a perilous trip that will eventually bring Cymbeline and a long-lost heir together and bring the two young lovers back together.
