Saving Mbango

Saving Mbango is a drama about a young boy named John who becomes the breadwinner of a highly chaotic household. His tumultuous and chaotic family history stands in the way of his hopes and ambitions. John falls in love with Mbango, a country girl whose life is fraught with complexities that dwarf John's. John's entire environment gets more conflicted as a result. He is divided between controlling his broken family and rescuing his love. Constantly harassed by his aggressive and alcoholic father, reckless older brother, and cruel unmarried sisters, he finds himself in a difficult situation. Nkanya Nwai's multi-award-winning film is set in Mondoni, a rural hamlet in Cameroon's South West region.
