Sonatine

Kitano plays Murakawa, a Tokyo yakuza tiring of gangster life. Together side some of his own henchmen, he's sent by his boss to help end a gang war, allegedly to mediate between two warring clans. He finds that the dispute involving the clans is immaterial and Murakawa's headquarters have been blasted and he and his gang have been ambushed at a bar whilst wondering why he had been shipped to Okinawa at all.
