Storm Over Asia
Mongol herders and trappers were duped by European capitalist fur traders in 1918 when a valuable fox fur was stolen from their herds. The trader who defrauded him has been excommunicated from the trading post, and he has fled to the hills. As a Soviet partisan, he aids the Soviets in their fight against the British troops in 1920. Despite this, he is arrested by the British as they attempt to take animals from the herdsmen at the same time as the commandant meets with a Grand Lama reincarnation. Amulet found on him after he's killed suggests Genghis Khan's direct descendant. So the army revives him and prepares to use him as the puppeteer for a new regime. By making him puppet master, the trapper is elevated to a position of power. In the end, the "puppet" rebels against his masters and shatters their illusions.
