The Black Balloon

Thomas is turning 16. His dad's in the army and they've simply moved to a town in New South Wales. His mom is pregnant. His brother, Charlie, who's autistic, has his very own teenage difficulties. Thomas finds Charlie a humiliation in public areas so when Thomas is drawn to Jackie, a woman in his swim class, Charlie gifts any number of obstacles when she falls from their home, when the three of those go for a walk, and during a family dinner dinner. Could Thomas look for a means to go into the world of teen romance and still be his brother's keeper, or is Charlie's handicap going to prove significantly more than Thomas can deal with?
