Director Alfred Hitchcock is admired among the greatest creative minds at cinema's annals. Known for his psychological thrillers, Hitchcock ladies were trendy, beautiful and rather blonde. One such celebrity was an unknown fashion model awarded her major break when Hitchcock's wife watched , Tippi Hedren. Brought to Universal Studios, when the director, at the summit of his career cast her into star in his second feature, Hedren was shocked, 1963's The Birds. Little did Hedren realize that as ambitious and terrifying while the production is to shoot, the most daunting part of the film ended up coming from behind the camera.
