The Golem: How He Came into the World
Suffering under the tyrannical rule of Rudolf II in 16th-century Prague, a Talmudic rabbi develops a huge warrior to shield the safety of his individuals. Sculpted of clay and animated by the mysterious keys of the Cabala, the Golem was an apparently indestructible juggernaut, executing acts of wonderful heroism, yet equally capable of dreadful violence. When the rabbi's aide takes control of the Golem and also tries to utilize him for self-indulgent gain, the lumbering monster runs widespread, snatching the rabbi's child and also setting fire to the ghetto.
