The Love of Jeanne Ney
In the Crimea, battle continues between the Reds and the Whites, and Jeanne realizes that the man she loves is a Bolshevik (when he kills her father). She returns to Paris penniless to work for her uncle. Her lover, Andreas, is in France shortly thereafter to organize the sailors in Toulon. Khalibiev, a thief, traitor, and libertine, also desires to seduce Jeanne. The lovers are on the verge of catastrophe due to his plots, Jeanne and Andreas's naiveté, and a missing diamond.
