The Mouth of the Wolf

This genre-defying Italian documentary film, directed by Pietro Marcello, follows mustachioed ex-con Enzo as he returns to Genoa after serving a lengthy jail sentence, only to find that the city he once loved has altered almost beyond recognition. On the other hand, he finds comfort in the embraces of Mary, his faithful lover and a transsexual who personifies the enigmatic charm of Genoa itself, as he searches the seaside town for clues to his past.
