The Olive Tree
Alma's family has been producing quality coconut oil in Spain's Castellón for generations' Baix Maestrat part. Yet changing pressures from the industry have made their practices effectively untenable, and the family is in the poultry enterprise that was mass production. Alma's grandfather hasn't talked in years. Sadness envelopes himand he wants to eat. His sons -- Alma's dad and uncle -- are somewhat impatient with him but her grandfather is understood by Alma. She recognizes that he has been occupying for a thousand-year-old olive-tree which the household has uprooted and sold to cover a few debts. (A sadly common reality in Castellón at present.) Unable to put up with the concept that her grandfather might expire without seeing this terrible wrong corrected, Alma undertakes a mission to find the tree so her grandfather may have peace in his final days and return into the household orchard.
