The Painter and the Thief

When two of artist Barbora Kysilkova's most valuable paintings are stolen from a gallery in Frogner, Oslo, the police are able to track down the culprit after a few days, but the paintings are still missing. Barbora attends the trial in the hopes of uncovering information, but instead asks the thief whether she can paint a painting of him. This is going to be the start of a strange friendship. The film recounts the remarkable narrative of an artist searching for her stolen paintings while also turning the burglar into art over the course of three years.
