The Spirit of the Beehive
In the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, Ana, a sensitive seven-year-old girl in a gigantic Spanish hamlet is traumatized after having a traveling projectionist screens a print of James Whale's 1931"Frankenstein" to the village. The child is disturbed by the scenes in which the creature murders the girl and can be murdered himself by the villagers. She considers that her older sister when she informs her that the creature isn't dead, but is as a soul occupying a local barn and questions her sister. Every time a Loyalist soldier, a priest out of Franco army, hides out at the barn, Ana crosses from reality.
