The Square
The Square, a new film by Jehane Noujaim (Control Room. Rafea: Solar Mama), talks about the hard realities faced day-to-day by people trying to construct Egypt's new democracy. Catapulting us into the actions spread across 2011 and 2012, the film provides a kaleidoscopic, visceral connection with the struggle. Cairo's Tahrir Square is the center and soul of the movie, which follows younger activists. Armed with an abundance of media that is social, conclusion, tunes, comedy, values, and obstinacy, they know that the path to democracy only began with the collapse of Hosni Mubarek. The life and death struggle between the public and also the power of their nation continues to be playing outside.
