The Wind in the Willows
A series of escapades with his new companion Rat begin when Mole decides one spring that he can put off the spring cleaning just a little bit longer. They embark on a picnic excursion with Toad along the riverbank, but when Toad shifts to driving his new automobile recklessly, Mole and Rat look to Badger for advice on how to rein in Toad's extravagant spending. Toad manages to elude them though, and the magistrate sentences him to 20 years in prison for theft, careless driving, and gross impertinence. When Badger tries to protect Toad Hall from the Weasels' schemes, he is severely beaten. Meanwhile, Toad manipulates the jailer's daughter and escapes from custody while costumed as a washerwoman. In addition, recovering Toad Hall demands a strategy and the cooperation of all four allies.
